Well, it’s officially over for another year. Christmas. Disappearing as quickly as it sneaks up on you, we are left to figure out what the hell we’re going to do with all the used wrapping paper, toy boxes and other packing junk that accompanies it all lol. I hope each and every one of you had a very enjoyable Christmas (or holiday period if you don’t celebrate Christmas) with lots of presents, good food and great company.
I decided I would turn the computer off Christmas eve (after I was up until Midnight wrapping presents) and didn’t allow it to be turned back on until my daughter was tucked away in bed Christmas night. Her new bed mind you – they grow up so quick /sniff. For those interested, you can see her new bed here. It’s pretty cool, her entire room is done in a ‘Jungle’ theme and she loves the animals!
Of course what happens when you don’t have your computer on for 24 hours? The emails build up. Oh my goodness! Now it’s time to sit down and start trying to clean them out again… ha!
Current email count: 3186. Oi…
Before I jump into the nightmare that is all those unread emails, I want to share an awesome little video by Markham Nolan that was shared with me by one of my good Twitter friends Kmackaz. With the amount of drivel I’ve seen in my travels around the internet, not to mention what’s been served directly to me on a tarnished silver platter, I found much amusement in this little skit. I hope you enjoy!
Unfortunately (for me), that video hits very close to home right now, although not related to social networking. I had a whole long blog post lined up to share the entire saga with you all, but then it crossed my mind that the person involved really don’t deserve anymore of my time or energy. I may still write it up one day, for therapeutic reasons perhaps?
The short version is I entered into an opportunity to partner alongside one of the big Guru’s. I was going to create my own product with their assistance, and then we’d make millions of dollars together. This opportunity cost me $2500 US and resulted in absolutely nothing. I actually shared a bit more of it over on The Warrior Forums here.
I’ve learnt a lot from it all though – like how some people will say pretty much anything to get your money, and how years of watching The X-Files and the “Trust No One” slogan never sunk in lol. Very expensive lesson mind you.
Any other stories out there of getting screwed over? I’m sure there’s at least one or two.

Hi Melani
thanks for the mention – the vid is great for a belly busting laugh, especially since you’ve been chewed up and spat out by this this guru-asshole.
Lots of lessons to be learnt from that one, but at least there maybe some hope, by one of the WF suggestions that you could file a fraud complaint. I mean hey, you went out of your way to achieve the tasks and milestones he set you to get the product out of the door. He simply did not deliver on his promises – sounds familiar to another guru you and I both know.
Anyway, am very excited for 2010 – all the best to you and your family. Catch you on the other side
Kieran
